TetraPro is American Grass Seed Producers (AGSP) newest release. TetraPro, an annual tetraploid ryegrass developed from Texas A & M University germplasm. TetraPro has shown to be a top forage producer in mid-spring in central Texas, ideal for the timing when wheat pasture grazing may be low, and warm-season grasses have yet to provide spring forage. TetraPro topped all other varieties in Beaumont, Texas, for dry matter production in April and also had the highest production for the entire season. TetraPro is a unique ryegrass variety that is high in bulk forage and is also high in nutrient value shown in trials by Virginia Tech. TetraPro is the ideal annual forage ryegrass with good palatability and good production for animal gain.
